Remembering Phil Lucas

We were shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of Phil Lucas this last weekend. He was one of the pioneering film and TV producers. Frank Blythe and the staff at NAPT had the pleasure to work with Phil over three decades. Most recently he was one of the senior producers for our latest PBS series, Indian Country Diaries. An inveterate storyteller, he created a substantial body of work as an independent filmmaker.

Frank Blythe, NAPT founder and current director of development had this to say, "He always told me, 'all I want to do is make films." And, he did."

Phil will be missed in our Native film community. Sincere condolences go to his family from all of us at NAPT.

If you would like to send written tributes to or memories of Phil, we will post them on our website. Send messages to ndnwebmaster@unl.edu
